Mortar round

A mortar round was a type of explosive artillery shell that was fired from a mortar.

Four mortar rounds were fired on a Cardassian compound by a Bajoran Resistance cell. This resulted in the destruction of five skimmers and the deaths of at least fifteen Cardassians. (DS9: "Ties of Blood and Water")
