Mercury capsule
The Mercury capsule was a type of American space capsule operated by NASA for its Project Mercury from 1961 to 1963. This was the first manned spacecraft of the agency. Each ship was given a name ending with a 7 by their pilots. The capsule was launched into space by the Mercury-Redstone Launch Vehicle.
In 2024, at a gala for the astronauts of the Europa Mission, a side profile of the Mercury capsule was seen in the displays "Manned Space Flight 1961-2024" and "Mercury". Along with these illustrations, there was a life size mockup of the capsule roped off near "Mercury". (Star Trek: Enterprise opening credits; PIC: "Two of One")
