A medical shotgun was a Starfleet medical device used to administer drugs to recalcitrant patients from a distance. It could be disassembled into four pieces.

In 2381, Ensign D'Vana Tendi hunted Ensign Sam Rutherford throughout the USS Cerritos with a medical shotgun loaded with cartridges containing medical venom, in an attempt to treat him for synthetic memory degradation. (LD: "Strange Energies")
