Maxia Zeta IV

Maxia Zeta IV was the uninhabited fourth planet in the Maxia Zeta system. This planet was located in the Maxia sector, Alpha Quadrant, and, like the third planet, was positioned inside the habitable zone of the system. Because of its location in the zone, Captain Jean-Luc Picard believed this planet could be a candidate for terraforming. The planet had several moons, some of them cratered deeply enough to hide a ship. It was the largest planet in Maxia Zeta's inner system.

On stardate 40217.3, in 2355, the USS Stargazer was on a routine survey mission to scan the planets in this system. Traveling at warp through the system, the Stargazer was ambushed by a Ferengi starship that had launched from one of the moons of Maxia Zeta IV. The conflict, known later as the Battle of Maxia, became legendary among the cadets at Starfleet Academy for the tactic used by Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the defense of his ship and crew.

In 2364, the orbital path and size of this planet were displayed in a map of Maxia Zeta's inner system. (TNG: "The Battle", display graphic)

This planet was only mentioned in writing.
This planet's quadrant of origin was inferred based on the position of its star system as seen in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".
