A loading dock or loading bay was an area of a building where goods were loaded and unloaded. They were commonly found on commercial and industrial buildings, and warehouses in particular.

In 2259 of the alternate reality, the bridge crew of the USS Vengeance cleared Delta Team to enter and directed them to loading dock 12. Shuttlecraft ferried parts for a starship to at least one of twelve loading docks. (Star Trek Into Darkness)
