Dock (maritime)

A dock was a man-made structure that was used for the loading, unloading, building, repairing, and maintenance of ships and boats.

In 2367, while Jean-Luc Picard showed Guinan his Dixon Hill holoprogram, Madeline was on the telephone and said to a caller, "Captain Picard? Sorry, there's no Captain Picard here. You should try down at the docks." (TNG: "Clues")
