Kirk's stolen laundry

Laundry was the washing of fabric items, such as clothing and linens. The term could also refer, collectively, to items in need of laundering. One type of cleaning solution for laundry was called Gain. (SNW: "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow")

In 1930, when James T. Kirk and Spock needed clothes to blend in with the time period, they noticed some laundry hung out to dry on a fire escape. Kirk then climbed the fire escape and stole the clothing. (TOS: "The City on the Edge of Forever")

In 2268, in addition to an first girl's complaints about poor public service, a second girl confronted Kalo about the lack of laundry pickup, noting "we ain't had a truck by in three weeks." (TOS: "A Piece of the Action")
