Laser detonator

A laser detonator was a technological device that emitted an energetic gammma pulse. It was used to ignite explosive materials, such as mooride polyronite B, which induced small-scale fusion reactions.

In 2367, some of these devices were stored aboard the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG-R: "Night Terrors")

This detonator was only mentioned in writing.
