James Hiroyuki Liao
James Hiroyuki Liao (born 6 February 1976; age 49) is an actor who played a USS Vengeance bridge officer in Star Trek Into Darkness and San in Star Trek: Section 31.
Liao is known for his regular role as Detective Jay Lee in the second through fourth seasons of Unforgettable (2013–16, with Ito Aghayere, Terry Serpico, Rachel Dratch, Bruce Davison, and Dennis Christopher) and his recurring roles as Roland Glenn in Prison Break (2008, starring Wade Andrew Williams and Robert Knepper, with Cress Williams, Leon Russom, Barbara Eve Harris, and Jude Ciccolella) and Albert Nguyen in Barry (2019–23, starring Bill Hader and Stephen Root).
He also guest-starred in episodes of series such as Law & Order (with Spencer Garrett), CSI: Miami, Bones (with Peter Parros), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (starring Paul Guilfoyle, Wallace Langham and Liz Vassey, with Len Cariou, Joseph Campanella and Eric Pierpoint), The Shield (starring Michael Jace and Benito Martinez), 24 (with Gregory Itzin, Nazneen Contractor, Necar Zadegan, Bob Gunton, Hiro Koda, written by Manny Coto), House, NCIS: New Orleans (starring Scott Bakula and Zoe McLellan), SEAL Team (with Linda Park, Mark Rolston, and Dennis Cockrum), and Cowboy Bebop (starring John Cho).
Besides Star Trek Into Darkness, Liao's few feature film credits include Battle: Los Angeles (2011), Lost Girls (2020), and Snake Eyes (2021, with Hugh Aodh O'Brien).
