The ISS Cerritos was the mirror universe counterpart of the USS Cerritos. In comparison to the Prime Cerritos, the ISS Cerritos carried more weaponry, including a pair of prominent weapons pods on top of the saucer, additional phaser banks, and two mission pods on rollbar structure, one above the main saucer and one above the secondary hull.

In 2381, it appeared in Mirror Universe Encounter, one of the training drill holoprograms presented by Shari yn Yem to the crew of the Cerritos. The premise of the program was that the user had taken the place of their mirror universe counterpart, and needed to infiltrate the Terran Empire Starfleet vessel without arousing suspicion. In 2382, a Schrödinger possibility field transformed the USS Cerritos into the ISS Cerritos while the ship was under attack by a Klingon Bird-of-Prey commanded by Relga. Although Lieutenant Shaxs was excited to have Terran weapons systems, they were quickly disabled by the Klingons before he could fire. The field later transformed the Cerritos into a Sovereign-class ship instead. (LD: "The New Next Generation")
