Hemerytherin was a biochemical substance that carried oxygen in the blood of Tellarites and certain marine invertebrates of Earth.

Performing makeshift surgery on Grek, Commander Jett Reno indicated to Captain Christopher Pike that the Tellarite blood on her gloves was safe for a handshake as it was rich in hemerytherin. (DIS: "Brother")
