Hearn Generating Station
Hearn Generating Station as a base on Essof IV in "Perpetual Infinity"
The Hearn Generating Station is a former electrical generating station in Toronto, Ontario, last producing power in 1983. It has been used as a filming location, with distinctive tall archways, for episodes of Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Short Treks.
The location was first used in the Short Trek "The Escape Artist", as an alien structure through which a diminutive bounty hunter escorts Rainn Wilson's "Harcourt Fenton Mudd," as well as the interior of Mudd's ship.
It was used again, in DIS: "Brother", as portions of the wreckage of the USS Hiawatha, while other interiors were redresses of the USS Discovery sets.
In "The Red Angel" and "Perpetual Infinity", the station was used to represent a surface facility on Essof IV.
The station was used to film a season premier again, for DIS Season 3, where it was used as the 32nd century Mercantile in DIS: "That Hope Is You, Part 1".
