Hanson was a crewman mentioned in a scene which was eventually cut from the Star Trek: The Original Series first season episode, "Space Seed".

In the scene, Yeoman Baker told Marla McGivers, "Hanson from the physics lab asked if you were coming to the rec room tonight." McGivers declined, saying "Tell "Mister Afraid to Ask Me Himself" that I'm waiting for a man who'll break down my door and carry me to where he wants me." [1]

The scene in question was filmed on 21 December 1966.
