H'atoria system

The H'atoria system was an inhabited planetary system inside Klingon space in the Beta Quadrant. It was a binary star system containing the planet H'atoria, which was home to a small Klingon colony.

History

The Klingons founded a colony in this system. (TNG: "All Good Things...")

In 2016, a Vulcan ship crossed into Klingon space near H'atoria and was immediately destroyed by the Klingons. In the aftermath, Vulcans established a policy of firing first when encountering Klingons, earning their respect and eventually leading to the establishment of formal relations. (DIS: "The Vulcan Hello")

While it was not explicitly stated, this was strongly implied to have been the first contact between Vulcans and Klingons.

Stellar cartography

In 2256, the system's location was labeled on the star chart "Alpha/Beta Quadrant Overview" in the ready room aboard the USS Discovery. It was located in the territory of the Klingon Empire. (DIS: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad", "The War Without, The War Within")

A year later, the system's location was labeled on the star chart showing the trajectory of Lieutenant Spock's shuttle. (DIS: "An Obol for Charon")

In 2258, the system's location was labeled on a star chart seen on the main viewscreen of the USS Enterprise. (DIS: "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2")

In 2259, the location of this system was labeled on a stellar cartography chart that was seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. This system's symbol was a red Klingon Empire logo, indicating its affiliation with the empire. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds", "Spock Amok")

The system's location was labeled in a Federation star chart that was in Fleet Admiral Kirsten Clancy's office at Starfleet Headquarters in 2399 and on the bridge of the USS Titan-A in 2401. The H'atoria system was in or near to neutral space. (PIC: "Maps and Legends", "The Next Generation", "Disengage")

In the script for "All Good Things...", H'atoria was listed in the pronunciation guide, where the term was pronounced "ha-TORE-ee-uh".
Both the Star Trek: Star Charts (pp. 56, 67) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography", pp. 27, 30; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385") identified the H'atoria system as a binary star system consisting of a pair of M-class stars. The H'atoria system was identified as a Klingon system in a star chart created by Scribe K'Tark in the Year of Kahless 893 (2266) for the Klingon High Council.
