Facian
The Facians were a tusked humanoid species.
History
In the early 24th century, a Facian was among the visitors to the Baraam space station. (Star Trek: Section 31)
After The Burn restricted interstellar travel in the 31st century, Facian individuals affiliated themselves with numerous regional entities. In 3188 and 3189, Facian couriers could be found trading at Emerald Chain mercantile exchanges, such as the Mercantile on Hima. (DIS: "That Hope Is You, Part 1", "People of Earth") In 3190, Facian traders were active on Porathia. (DIS: "All In")
Other Facians joined the Emerald Chain as regulators, as on Hunhau. (DIS: "Scavengers")
In 3190, Facians were among the Federation member worlds and allies present at the Multilateral DMA Strategy Assembly. One of their delegates voted for diplomacy with Unknown Species 10-C, while another supported Ruon Tarka's proposal to destroy the DMA with his cascading subspace burst device. (DIS: "...But to Connect")
Among Millennium Celebration dignataries
In 3191, a Facian delegate participated in the Federation's Millennium Celebration at Federation Headquarters. (DIS: "Red Directive") Later that year, that delegate also participated in a Federation resource committee meeting with Saru and T'Rina. (DIS: "Jinaal")

Insignia and name
The name of the species was not spoken on screen, but was seen on a delegate's voting holo and a voting tally in "...But to Connect". A close-up of the tally was later shared by graphic designer Timothy Peel. [1]
The Facians were conceptualized by Glenn Hetrick and sculpted by Joey Orosco, both of Alchemy Studios. (Star Trek: The Art of Glenn Hetrick's Alchemy Studios, p. 126)
