Erewon class

The Erewon-class was a type of Federation civilian personnel transport operated during the 24th century that could be used as a colony ship. The Erewon-class was about four times larger than a Danube-class runabout.

Benjamin Sisko was familiar with this class of vessel, and immediately recognized the cannibalized hulk of one upon viewing the Cabin in 2370. (DS9: "Paradise")

The name Erewon, spelled backwards and with an added "h," spelled "nowhere." The name comes from a fictional country in the 1872 novel Erewhon, written by Samuel Butler. 1872 novel Erewhon depicted a people who had destroyed machines for fear they would be out-evolved by them.
