BDR was a three-letter prefix used for Federation civilian starships in the 24th century.

The Erewon-class personnel transport SS Santa Maria had registry number BDR-529. (DS9: "Paradise")

Additionally, a graphic created for Star Trek Beyond but not seen in the movie made mention of ships designated BDR-258 and BDR-529.
