Dal's epigenetic dermal implant

An epigenetic dermal implant was a device created by Doctor Jago. Installed on the back of the neck, it was capable of activating dormant genes and stimulating rapid cell division, allowing its wearer to enhance their physical capabilities at the literal press of a button.

In 2384, Jago gave an implant to Dal R'El, a hybrid Augment engineered with genetic material from twenty-seven different species. In the short term, the implant granted him telepathy and increased agility. However, when he was threatened by Tal Shiar commandos, Dal set the implant to maximum, which allowed him to defeat the Romulans in hand-to-hand combat but also activated all of his dormant genes at once, causing his body to mutate uncontrollably until the implant was removed by Zero.
