Background information
This planet's quadrant of origin was inferred based on the position of its star system as seen in the star chart appearing in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.
In the Star Trek: Star Charts (pp. 33 & 41) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), Deneb II (Deneb Kaitos II, Beta 16 Ceti II) was colonized by Deneb V over three hundred years before 2378. The planet was classified as M-class. In 2378, Deneb II was listed as a Federation member world.
Apocrypha
In The Worlds of the Federation, Deneb II was called Kreta by its natives.
