Centaurus

Centaurus (Latin for centaur) was a constellation visible from Earth's southern hemisphere. Astronomical objects in this constellation were located in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. (TOS: "Tomorrow is Yesterday")

The name of this constellation was derived from Alpha Centauri's Bayer designation. In Bayer designation, the name begins with a Greek letter followed by a genitive of the constellation's name.
