Can

A can was a metal container in which food or beverages were stored.

In 2267, James T. Kirk suggested that Spock might have played practical jokes as a small boy, such as tying cans on something, which upon seeing Spock's look of dismay, Kirk realized who he was talking to and asked him to forgive him. (TOS: "The Squire of Gothos")
