Tin can

A tin can was a container, usually cylindrical, made out of sheet metal coated with tin, or, by extension, aluminum. Foods stored in tin cans were called canned goods. (SNW: "Hegemony")

Doctor Ira Graves referred to Data as a "walking tin can with circuits for intestines." (TNG: "The Schizoid Man")

When Takar asked Kathryn Janeway in 2374, "What do you hope to accomplish by this," the captain responded by questioning, "flying into a binary pulsar?" and answering, "It seems like I'm trying to crush this ship like a tin can." (VOY: "Scientific Method")

A deleted scene from TOS: "Miri" had Miri tell James T. Kirk that they had lots of "mommies" (Only slang for "can openers") and cans (of food), if he was hungry.
