Babe was a slang term for a woman.

In 2365, Hotel Royale gambler Texas referred to Vanessa as babe when she was rolling dice. (TNG: "The Royale")

When introducing the singer Lola Chrystal in 2374, Vic Fontaine promised, "If this babe doesn't raise your temperature, you'd better check the obituary column, because chances are you're in it, pallie." (DS9: "His Way")
