Aquila
Aquila (Latin for eagle) was a constellation visible from Earth's northern hemisphere. This constellation contained the star Altair, which was the twelfth brightest star in Earth's night sky. Astronomical objects in this constellation were located in the Alpha Quadrant. (TNG: "Eye of the Beholder")

The name of this constellation was derived from Beta Aquilae II's' Bayer designation. In Bayer designation, the name begins with a Greek letter followed by a genitive of the constellation's name.
