Gas Giant Dead Core is a bottom layer of some Gas Giants. Similarly to Moon Core Layer, it consists of ultradense Dead Core blocks (there is nothing below them). There is an ocean of either Lava or Metallic Hydrogen.

Only 1/3 of the Gas Giants will have this. Others have either Gas Giant Core (easily minable blocks with a lot of ore) or Gas Giant Core Ocean (just another layer of gas).

GPS in your Tricorder calls this biome "Gas Giant Core Layer II".
