5e Classes (Theous Supplement)

Classes of Theous

In the world of Theous, all adventurers fall into one of two major class categories: Warrior or Mage. While these may seem broad, don’t let the limited number of classes fool you—this system is built with flexibility in mind. Theous uses a "build-your-own-class" structure that gives players plenty of customizable options to create unique, personalized characters.

Class Design Philosophy

Theous is a world forged in divine conflict and magical experimentation. As such, character classes are intentionally open-ended, with a wide range of skills and features to choose from. Instead of following rigid archetypes, players build their characters by selecting abilities that match their story, strategy, and flavor.

Class Categories

Warrior

Frontline fighters, skirmishers, and damage-dealers who rely on weapons, martial training, or physical prowess. Warriors may use swords, spears, bows, or even their bare fists. They tend to control the battlefield through positioning, mobility, and durability.

  • Roles: Tank, damage dealer, frontline controller
  • Typical Tools: Weapons, armor, martial techniques

Mage

Magic-wielders who shape reality through elemental or divine power. Mages typically fill backline roles—healing allies, launching destructive spells, or altering the flow of combat with buffs and control magic. Mages rely on their Elemental Affinity to define their magical strengths.

  • Roles: Support, spellcaster, area control, healer
  • Typical Tools: Spellbooks, glyphs, staves, arcane focus

Customize Your Path

Each class provides a wide array of skills and magical techniques. Whether you want to build a holy sword-wielder, a nimble archer who enchants their arrows, or a storm-slinging battle mage, the options are there.

Your class is just the starting point—your build is entirely your own.
