Elemental Affinity
At birth, each person is naturally attuned to one or more elements. A creature can only cast spells of elemental types they are affiliated with. When creating a character, you must roll your affinities.
Determining Affinities (1d100)
| d100 Roll | Number of Affinities Gained |
|---|---|
| 01–60 | 1 Element |
| 61–85 | 2 Elements |
| 86–90 | 3 Elements |
| 91–93 | 4 Elements |
| 94–95 | 6 Elements |
| 96–99 | 7 Elements |
| 100 | All 8 Elements |
Each affinity grants access to all spells and effects associated with that element.
Elemental Adaptation
Whenever you cast a spell or make a magical attack that deals damage, you may change the damage type to one of your elemental affinities.
- For example, if you cast a spell that deals fire damage but you are only attuned to Cold and Radiant, you must either cast a different spell or modify the damage type accordingly.
- This flexibility allows casters to bypass resistances or customize their magical style to match their innate power.
