The Synchro Machine is activated by holding down the L button then pressing the R button, which allows the player to travel from the perspective of their lead party Pokémon. The Synchro Machine only works inside the Terarium, except for the top of the Terarium Core.
While synchronized, the player can engage wild Pokémon in a way similar to the Auto Battle feature by touching them or by pressing the Y button. Unlike normal auto battles, wild Tera Pokémon and Shiny Pokémon can be battled in this way, though this does not grant any additional rewards or update the "Shiny Pokémon Battled" counter on the player's Trainer Card. Upon reaching low HP, the synchronization will end. While synchronized, items on the ground can be picked up, but NPCs and other players cannot be interacted with. A synchronized Pokémon that is moving above the ground by means of flight or levitation will slowly glide to the ground instead of falling at the usual speed of the player when dropping from large heights. Some Pokémon can either hover or walk, and for these Pokémon, the state can be toggled with the B button while not moving. Pokémon that can hover or swim can move across water, but if a grounded Pokémon that cannot swim moves into water, the synchronization will end with the message "<Pokémon> managed to scramble back out of the water!" If the player presses the X button, the Pokémon will perform one of two species specific animations. If they press ZR a ball will drop down and the Pokémon can interact with it by attacking or pushing it. Pressing Minus will hide the control guide.
A device that synchronizes your mind and feelings with your Pokémon's so that you can work as one. It's still a prototype—hence its unrefined appearance.
The Synchro Machine appeared in Roy is Crocalor, and Crocalor is Roy!, under the possession of a man taking part in the Countryside Harvest Festival, though he admitted that he had just found it after someone else had lost it and had no idea of its function. When Roy and his Crocalor used the machine together, it caused them to switch bodies. After the man had succeeded in getting the machine to work again, Roy and Crocalor were able to restore themselves back to normal. Liko and Dot wanted to try the machine out as well afterwards, but when Liko and Floragato tried to use it, it malfunctioned and broke down.
