The Spell Tag (Japanese: のろいのおふだ Cursed O-fuda) is a type of held item introduced in Generation II that boosts the power of Ghost-type moves.

In Pokémon: Magikarp Jump, Spell Tag is a Friendship Item that can be purchased for 400. It summons Mimikyu as a helper Pokémon.

The Spell Tag has been introduced as a Pokémon Tool card in the Lost Thunder expansion of the Sun & Moon Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (the Sun & Moon Era in Japan).


When the Psychic-Pokémon the Spell Tag is attached to is Knocked Out by damage from an opponent's attack, it allows the owner of the K.O.'d Pokémon to put 4 damage counters on their opponent's Pokémon in any way they like.


There is also a Secret print of this card in the same expansion.

Merchandise

The Spell Tag has been featured with the "Looming Shadows" statue by First 4 Figures alongside the Gastly evolutionary line; on merchandise from the YonayonaGhost collection exclusive to the Pokémon Center; as well as on the Item Mania card sleeves.
