(Japanese: リョウガの秘密 Ryouga's Secret) is the second chapter of the Pokémon RéBURST manga.
Plot
Yaza's men run away in fear from the sight of Ryouga. Miruto is shocked by this transformation, having never heard of a human having the powers of a Pokémon.
Ryouga walks past them and breaks the bars of the truck with the captured Pokémon, setting them free. Tekkun happily reunites with the little girl before circling Ryouga. The little girl is scared at first but loses her fear of him after seeing the young man smile that her Lillipup is safe, thanking him. Soon, Ryouga returns to normal, where the energy returns to the jewel. Miruto questions him about it and demands an explanation. Ryouga tries to deny it happened and refuses to teach outsiders from his town. Miruto tricks him into explaining by saying how impossible it is.
Ryouga starts with the jewel, calling it a Burst Heart, where a Pokémon is sealed inside. Unlike Poké Balls, which can release the Pokémon they capture, using these crystals causes the sealed Pokémon and the user to fuse in a process known as Burst. After Miruto writes all this down, she wants to ask the mysterious group for information, which Ryouga wants to do as well. However, they are nowhere to be found. The little girl tells them that they ran away. The townspeople are thankful for what Ryouga has done and cheer for him.
Later while traveling, Ryouga is dispirited despite how the incident ended, as he was hoping to get some information on Arcades. Miruto asks what he is talking about and the young man tells her that Arcades is like his family and mentor. Ryouga praises him that he could pulverize someone who would want to hurt the world. Ryouga made a promise when he was little, that when he becomes strong then he will go see him. Though, he admits that he does not know where exactly Arcades is.
Miruto questions if he is just going to randomly search for him, but Ryouga plans to climb a mountain, pointing to a very tall one not far from there. He thinks that he could see half the world from the top, much to Miruto's irritation. They overhear two passersby talking about the mountain, wanting to see "The Silver Drop". They ask the men about this, and one of the men explains that somewhere at the summit of Mt. Serables there is a rare flower that blooms once every five years. It is effective on any sickness and very valuable. However, the blooming only lasts a few days, making it hard to get. This season happens to be when it occurs, making Ryouga decide to climb to see the Silver Drop. The two men tell him that it is impossible with the mountain's unpredictable weather and dangerous terrain. However, this only furthers his resolve, and thanks them before running to the mountain.
Elsewhere, Yaza's men are cornered by a mysterious man. The men prepare to attack, not wanting to work for their organization anymore, firing at the man and sending him into some barrels. Seemingly successful, they take this chance to escape. However, one has their leg grabbed by a hand coming from the ground.
The man who was after them jumps out from the ground, having Burst with his Excadrill. After trapping them in pillars of earth, Major Hilgreitz contacts his superiors. He is then given a new task, to obliterate a target, Ryouga. Hilgreitz is unamused, but laughs once he learns that he was the one who destroyed Yaza's squad. His superiors warn him not to be careless as they speculate that the boy can Burst, catching the interest of Hilgreitz.
