A jump pad is a stage element in Pokémon UNITE. It allows Pokémon using it to quickly traverse the stadium.
General function
Jump pads can launch Pokémon standing on them across sections of the stadium, allowing for quick travel. A Diglett or Dugtrio pushes the board from underneath, giving it this effect. While jumping, Pokémon gain the Unstoppable condition.
Types
Regular jump pads
Four regular jump pads can be found in the central area of the stages Remoat Stadium and Theia Sky Ruins from the start of the match, and can be identified by Diglett underneath. When standing on one, a Pokémon will be automatically sprung across the wall separating friendly territory to the tall grass of neutral territory. This effect follows after a set amount of time and is not overriden by most status conditions. Only one Pokémon can jump at a time.
Superjump springboards
At the midway point of a battle (5:00 in Remoat Stadium and Theia Sky Ruins, 2:30 in Mer Stadium), enhanced jump pads called superjump springboards, propelled by Dugtrio, appear right before each base's border. This jump pad variant doesn't propell automatically; instead, the player can choose to use the springboard and aim the trajectory up, down or to the center, each short or medium-distance. The medium distance in Ranked/Casual Battle maps coincides with goal zones: when a Pokémon lands via superjump, it knocks up all opponents standing in the landing radius (unless they are protected by a specific shield while scoring). This specific mechanic allows to prevent an enemy from scoring.
Prior to version 1.9.2.8, it was possible to see the opponents' springboard activate from a distance, which let players know when an opposing Pokémon might land on a goal zone. This was since removed, thus limiting vision.
