Inferno Cave (Japanese: れっかのどうくつ Inferno Cave) is a dungeon exclusive to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky unlocked after the player has reached Guildmaster Rank. It is located in the Volcanic Area.

Gameplay

The player cannot bring any money and more than 8 items; any excess will be lost forever if not stored. Only the team leader is allowed, other Pokémon will be returned to Chimecho Assembly upon entering.

The jobs here are ranked ★4, ★5 or ★6 by default, depending on the floor.

All floors are large, with following amount of rooms:

  • 3-7 on floors 18 and 25
  • 3-8 on floors 1, 10 and 16
  • 3-9 on floors 2, 9, 17 and 24
  • 3-10 on floors 3, 8, 11, 15, 23 and 26
  • 3-11 on floors 4, 7, 14, 19, 22 and 29
  • 3-12 on floors 5, 6, 13, 20, 21 and 28
  • 3-14 on floors 12 and 27

There's 2-5 items on floors 1 through 14, and 4-7 on floors 12 through 29. There's also 2-5 items buried in the walls. The items have 8% chance to spawn sticky.

The amount of starting enemies varies per floor:

  • 2-4 on floor 1
  • 3-5 on floor 2
  • 3-6 on floor 3
  • 4-7 on floor 4
  • 4-8 on floor 5
  • 5-9 on floors 6 through 29

There's 20% chance that a Monster House on floors 5, 13, 25 and 26 will spawn without items.

The IQ Booster activates every floor. The turn limit is 1000. There is heavy darkness in the dungeon. There is lava on floors 3, 7, 12, 15, 19, 22, 24 and 26. Enemies in this dungeon have 330IQ on floors 1 through 16, 331 on floors 17 through 22 and 600 on floors 23 through 29, granting them access to many IQ skills. The player cannot be rescued if knocked out.

The weather is random on floors 7, 15, 17, 24 and 28, and sunny on floors 5, 11 and 21.

At the end of dungeon there is a Deluxe Box containing an IQ Booster.
