Hyper Training

Hyper Training (Japanese: すごいとっくん Amazing Intensive Training) is a method of Pokémon training that allows the player to maximize one or more of a Pokémon's IVs through intensive training. This feature was introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Unlike affection, Hyper Training is effective in Link Battles.

Mechanics
Prior to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Hyper Training is only available once the player either becomes ChampionSMUSUMPESwSh or enters the Hall of FameBDSP. In exchange for a Bottle Cap, an NPC will train one of the player's Pokémon, so long as it has reached level 100 (Generation VII and VIII) or 50 (Generation IX). A regular Bottle Cap can increase one of a Pokémon's IVs to 31 (the maximum value), while a Gold Bottle Cap will increase all of a Pokémon's IVs to 31. If an IV is already at 31, it cannot be selected for Hyper Training, and if all of a Pokémon's IVs are 31, that Pokémon cannot be selected at all.
Rather than actually changing a Pokémon's IVs, Hyper Training sets a modifier for the game to treat that stat as if it had an IV of 31. As a result, it affects neither the type of Hidden Power the Pokémon has nor the IVs it can pass down when breeding. IVs that have been set to 31 via Hyper Training will say "Hyper trained!" rather than "Best" when the Pokémon is judged by the Judge function in the PC.
If a Hyper Trained Pokémon is sent to Pokémon Bank, the stat changes will not be shown. However, if transferred back to a core series game, the Pokémon will still be shown as Hyper Trained, and will still be treated as if it had perfect IVs in the stats in which it was Hyper Trained.
If a Pokémon from Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is Hyper Trained in Scarlet and Violet, it can't be sent back unless it reaches level 100.
If a Pokémon that was caught in Pokémon Legends: Arceus with an effort level that is less than 3 is Hyper Trained, its effort level on the said attribute will automatically be increased to 3.

In Pokémon GO

Players can increase a Pokémon's IVs by having the Pokémon undergo Hyper Training. Instead of interacting with an NPC, players initiate Hyper Training by directly using a Gold Bottle Cap from their Bag. Only Pokémon that are Good Buddy or higher can undergo Hyper Training. Shadow Pokémon and Pokémon with all three IVs at maximum cannot undergo Hyper Training.
When initiating Hyper Training, the player can select a target level to increase each IV to. Each IV increase by +1 requires that the player completes a specific task with the Pokémon. These tasks are the same for all Pokémon and are based on the IV being increased and the level it is being increased to. Once a task is complete, the IV immediately increases and the next task is unlocked. Players have 365 days to complete their Hyper Training course with the Pokémon.
Hyper Trained Pokémon display a barbell icon next to their Hyper Trained IVs when viewing the Pokémon's appraisal screen. Hyper Trained Pokémon can be traded, but their stats will be randomized as usual, potentially losing the benefits of Hyper Training. Hyper Trained Pokémon cannot be transferred to Pokémon HOME through the GO Transporter, but they can transfer to Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! through GO Park (as long as they fulfill the other GO Park restrictions); GO Park will treat the Pokémon's post-Hyper Training IVs as the Pokémon's actual IVs during the data conversion, as if the Pokémon was initially caught with those IVs.[1]

Pokémon Horizons: The Series
Hyper Training was featured in A New Song for Fuecoco. Following Roy's loss against Ryme, Nemona made him and Fuecoco go through Hyper Training in preparation for a rematch. She also invited Liko and Dot along, despite their reluctance.
The training exercises Nemona made Roy go through included running, rolling heavy snowballs, and battle training.
Trivia
- For less than a day after the launch of Pokémon HOME, any Pokémon transferred from Pokémon Bank would lose its Hyper Training. This has since been fixed.
