The Dragon Scale (Japanese: りゅうのウロコ Dragon Scale ) is a type of held item introduced in Generation II . It allows Seadra to evolve into Kingdra .
In the core series games Price Effect Held item In battle In Pokémon Gold, Silver , and Crystal , it increases the power of Dragon-type moves by 10% when held due to an oversight (while the Dragon Fang —the item which was intended to have this effect—has no effect). In Pokémon Stadium 2 , both Dragon Fang and Dragon Scale boost the power of Dragon-type moves.
From Generation III onward, Dragon Scale has no effect in battle.
Outside battles Causes Seadra to evolve into Kingdra when traded while holding it, which consumes the Dragon Scale. Seadra will not evolve if linking to a Generation I game.
