As One (Ability)

As One (Japanese: じんばいったい Rider and Mount in Unison) is an Ability introduced during Generation VIII, in The Crown Tundra. It is the signature Ability of Calyrex in its Ice Rider or Shadow Rider forms, and has a different effect depending on Calyrex's form.

Effect

In battle

As Ice Rider Calyrex, this Ability combines the effects of both Calyrex's Unnerve Ability and Glastrier's Chilling Neigh Ability.

As Shadow Rider Calyrex, this Ability combines the effects of both Calyrex's Unnerve Ability and Spectrier's Grim Neigh Ability.

When a Calyrex with As One is sent into battle, the Ability causes the message "<name> has two Abilities!" to pop up. Any entry hazards activate after the message. Subsequent triggers that cause one of the component Abilities to pop up a message do so citing the name of the Ability as Unnerve, Chilling Neigh, or Grim Neigh as appropriate, rather than As One.

Gastro Acid, Worry Seed, and Simple Beam fail if the target has either version of As One. Role Play, Skill Swap, Entrainment, and Doodle fail if either Pokémon has As One. As One cannot be copied by Trace, Power of Alchemy, or Receiver. As One cannot be replaced by Mummy or Lingering Aroma, suppressed by Core Enforcer or Neutralizing Gas, or traded by Wandering Spirit.

Outside of battle

As One has no effect outside of battle.

Trivia

• Despite sharing the same name, the two versions of As One (Ice Rider Calyrex's version and Shadow Rider Calyrex's version) are considered two separate Abilities internally, occupying separate entries in the Ability index. The two versions are listed separately in the Pokédex's Ability list in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME.
• As One, specifically Shadow Rider Calyrex's version, is the last Generation VIII Ability in index number order.
