Cognate with Lillooet pqus (bald eagle), spəlkʷáqs (bald eagle), Shuswap spl'qʷeqs (bald eagle) and Halkomelem sp'óq'es (bald eagle) .

Usage notes

Only refers to adult bald eagles, after their head feathers have turned white. Young bald eagles are called yex̱wéla7.
