Etymology
From Betawi sentiong, from Chinese Hokkien 新塚/新冢, compound of 新 (sin, “new”) + 塚 / 冢 (thióng, “graveyard”). Compare to Tiong Bahru (literally “new graveyard”), a Singaporean housing estate.
