     Uit de reacties van fabrikanten, supermarkten en de brancheverenigingen blijkt niet dat zij van plan zijn hiermee te stoppen. Wij blijven daarom oproepen om voorbeelden van krimpflatie te melden op ons meldpunt.

     Reactions from manufacturers, supermarkets, and industry associations suggest that they do not plan to stop. We therefore urge you to report examples of shrinkflation to us.

     De Republiek kende bijvoorbeeld de 'verkleining der kannen' een maatregel die je in de kroeg niet meteen zou merken. Voor hetzelfde geld kreeg je minder bier. Dit noemt men tegenwoordig krimpflatie. Zo verdoezelde men een hogere accijns.

     The Republic introduced ‘verkleining der kannen’ (reducing of jugs), a measure that you would not immediately notice at the pub. For the same money you got less beer. Today we would call this ‘krimpflatie’ (shrinkflation). This was a way to conceal higher excise taxes.

Ik vind dat jammer."
