cahys (plural cahyses)

1. (historical) Obsolete form of cahiz (“traditional Spanish unit of dry measure”).
   • 1771, Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1st ed., Vol. II, p. 7:

     CAHYS, a dry meaſure for corn, uſed in ſome parts of Spain, particularly at Seville and as Cadiz. It is near a buſhel of our meaſure.
