Tyrannasorus
Translingual
Etymology
Blend of Tyrannosaurus + Hybosorus. By surface analysis, Ancient Greek τῠ́ρᾰννος (tŭ́rănnos, “tyrant”) + Ancient Greek σωρός (sōrós, “heap, pile, mound”). The type species is Tyrannasorus rex, further reinforcing the play on words. Possibly named as such due to Tyrannosaurus being a well-known fossil taxon, as this genus is also.
