Storgatan
Swedish
Etymology
Literally, “The Large Street”. Compound of stor (“large, big, grand”) + gata (“street”) + -n (“the”), as this street often, at least originally, served as the main thoroughfare of the location. Additionally, Swedish street names, when not derived from personal names, are generally expressed in the definite form.
