ਮੋਹ
Punjabi
Etymology
Inherited from Prakrit [script needed] (mōha, “delusion, folly; love”), from Sanskrit मोह (moha), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *máwǰʰas, from the root *mawǰʰ- ~ *mawgʰ- (“to err, to be foolish, to deviate”), with further origin uncertain, possibly a loan from the BMAC substrate. Cognate with Sindhi [script needed] (mohu, “love”), and Japanese 馬鹿 (baka, “fool”, noun).
