ਕੀਤਾ

Punjabi

Etymology

Inherited from Prakrit [script needed] (*kītta), which was formed in analogy to Prakrit [script needed] (ditta, given, past participle), with the Prakrit [script needed] (*kī-) stem derived from earlier Prakrit [script needed] (kia-), from Sanskrit कृत (kṛta, past passive participle), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *kr̥tás, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *kr̥tás, from Proto-Indo-European *kʷr̥-tó-s (done). By surface analysis, ਕਰ (kar) +‎ *-ਤਾ (*-tā), with the second part from Sanskrit -त (-ta).
