Inherited from Proto-Slavic *nijako (in no way). by surface analysis, univerbation of ні (ni) +‎ як (jak). Compare Russian ника́к (nikák), Belarusian нія́к (niják), Polish nijak. Parsable as ні- (ni-) +‎ як (jak).
