Кошице
Pannonian Rusyn
Etymology
Given that the city was only thusly named in the 20th century, most likely borrowed from Serbo-Croatian Кошице / Košice, from Slovak Košice. A native derivation would have yielded *Кошици (*Košici), which compare Carpathian Rusyn Кошіцї (Košicji), Кошыцї (Košŷcji) and Ukrainian Ко́шиці (Kóšyci).
