This guide is a simplified overview of all changes in the Caves & Cliffs updates (Java Edition 1.17.x and 1.18.x releases), which assumes at least some familiarity with the Nether Update (Java Edition 1.16.x releases).

Since Caves & Cliffs was released in 2 separate updates with various changes in between, the guide is split in 2 parts, one for each major update release.
