Earth:Make Stuff

The Make Stuff window.

Make Stuff was a feature in Minecraft Earth that lets players craft or smelt items.

Functionality

Players were able to craft and smelt items in Make Stuff. Players were able to select the buttons "crafting" or "smelting".

Crafting and smelting in Make Stuff were only possible via pre-set recipes.

Crafting

In most ways, crafting worked like in normal Minecraft except for crafting time, indicated by the timer icon, which ranged from 4 seconds (planks or sticks) up to 5 minutes (diamond pickaxe or diamond axe). The duration for crafting depended on rarity of the item. The player was able to leave the crafting interface to continue playing while the item is crafted. Two additional craft slots were available.

Smelting

In Minecraft Earth, smelting also had similar mechanics, except for the smelting time and fuel, indicated by the timer and flame icon[a] which had three variants. Upon smelting, the furnace would start heating and a flame icon appeared based on the fuel. The duration of smelting also depended on the rarity of the item. As with normal Minecraft, smelting continued if the player left the smelting interface.

Buying slots

Prior to 0.23.0, players had the option to buy additional crafting and smelting slots in exchange for rubies.

Finishing immediately

While an operation was underway, the interface offered to finish immediately at a cost of 1 Ruby per minute remaining.

While crafting or smelting was underway, the interface offered the player an option to "finish now"; that is, complete the crafting job immediately by spending rubies. "Finish now" cost 1 ruby per minute of time remaining (rounded up) to craft or smelt.
