A zombie movie was a sub-genre of horror films and monster movies, because they featured zombies. Orgy of the Walking Dead was one example. (VOY: "Future's End")

Playing dead was a trick used in zombie movies to avoid being attacked. In 2259, a USS Enterprise away team sneaked a shuttle past Gorn forces using this trick, which was said to be a common tactic in zombie movies. Spock then admitted never having seen any. (SNW: "Hegemony")
