A woofer was a type of loudspeaker used for automobiles which allowed one to listen to the radio at much higher volumes.

In 2374, Tom Paris had a Chevrolet Camaro that was equipped with such a device. He often drove the car down Highway 1 on his holodeck program Paris Program Alpha-1, or as he called it, "Grease Monkey." (VOY: "Vis à Vis")
