A wood leech was a type of leech native to Planet 0042692. It was edible, and its secretions were effective in reducing angiodemic immune response.

In 2384, Jankom Pog snacked on a jar of wood leeches while watching "The Logs".

Later, Doctor Boons applied two wood leeches to Dal R'El's neck to alleviate his itchy skin, caused by exposure to the "curse" of "The Gallows". (PRO: "All the World's a Stage")
